When Sam came for her senior shoot last fall, she was really wanting to do some pictures in the snow. Her and her family love to go skiing, so here in Missouri, this was about as close as we could get! The first snow we had, I was out of town…so, as luck would have it, mother nature provided us another opportunity! For there being snow on the ground, it turned out to be a nice afternoon. A little chilly, but, the lighting was fantastic. We found a few rustic locations, some snow still on some trees…just beautiful!
Jaci came in this past week for her senior model shoot. Her friend D’Anna came along and we all had so much fun! I had to take the shots between laughter! D’Anna ran my video camera and we got some great shots of Jaci doing her thing and modeling! Jaci also really enjoys Pilates and wanted to work something like that into the shoot. See below for what we came up with!
It was a fantastic afternoon and we ended up with some great images and thanks for your help D’Anna!
Amanda came in yesterday for her last senior model shoot. Wow how time flies!!! It was a little bitter cold out…which, was totally opposite from her last shoot! I think it was the hottest day of the year last time! Amanda is absolutely stunning, and we captured some amazing images! We worked on a few artistic style shots for fun, and I think they turned out pretty cool!
Last week I had the chance to shoot myself. Well, not literally, but, I shot a senior with the same name! Not just first, but first and last! It’s been a source of fun on Facebook, I’m not going to lie! Joshua came into the studio, and right off the bat I knew we were going to have fun! He was laid back and easy going! It was a fantastic afternoon for this time of year. Not like it’s going to be this week! I’m ready for some Spring weather!
When Joshua came in, he brought a couple props with him. One was a hat that was his Grandpa’s. As soon as I saw it, I knew what kind of shot I wanted to do! See below!
Aubrey contacted me a while back about working on her modeling portfolio. Aubrey was a senior last year, we had an absolute awesome shoot then, so, I was looking forward to her modeling session yesterday to say the least. Since coming back from San Diego, I’ve been excited to get in the studio and work on some new lighting techniques, and some new photoshop skills I picked up.
Yesterday was such a beautiful day, the weather was perfect, no wind…you really couldn’t ask for better since it’s JANUARY!
Aubrey, you were fantastic as expected, and we have some smashing good images for your portfolio!
For those of you that haven’t added me on Facebook, be sure to click on the link and add me! There are more images from this modeling session on Facebook!
Samantha is a senior from Carthage, and came in for an indoor session this afternoon. I was super excited since I’d just come back from my trip to San Diego and was fired up to shoot seniors again! I did a few shots with a couple new lighting set-ups, and we just had a blast!
It was great to hang out with you tonight in the studio! We have some amazing images! Here’s just a couple I worked up real quick…
Good morning everyone! I’ve been really pumped up for 2010 after coming back from my conference in San Diego. NOT so excited about this weather, but, I think it’s supposed to get up to 49 today, which will feel like a heat wave! I put on some shorts just to celebrate breaking the freezing mark!!
As a photographer, it’s extremely important to stay up with today’s current fashions and trends. I came across “Fashion Haul” on Youtube. For all you young ladies out there, this is something you should definitely checkout! In short, it’s high school and college girls that have gone shopping, mixed and matched articles of clothing from different stores to make a super cute outfit! They also tell you where they got great deals! With it being Youtube, you can totally do this yourself as well! Fact is…if you do a Fashion Haul of your own, send me the link and I’ll post it right here in my blog! How fun!
There are literally hundreds of these, so, I’m just posting the link to a couple to give you an idea! Just do a search on Youtube for “Fashion Haul”, and you’ll have hundreds to choose from! Enjoy!
Well, in the several years I’ve been involved with the portrait business, I truly believe that you are always a student, and always learning. This year I attended the Senior Portrait Artist event at the Hotel Del on Coronado Island. For those of you that don’t know, that’s where the song “Hotel California” from the Eagles came from. Needless to say, that song is on a continuous loop in my brain, and I can’t get it out! Regardless, other then missing my family greatly, I had a complete blast! Met some amazing rock stars in this industry, attended several workshops, relating anywhere from business to shooting.
I mean, when you are learning one minute, and tanning on the beach the next…can’t be all that bad! I’ve taken the phrase “Work Hard, Play Hard” to a new level. This past year has been one of the busiest in my life! So, a little R&R was in due order!
I’m glad to be back, totally fired up about my business in 2010, and the upcoming years shoots. I have some amazing things in store for the seniors this year!
Friday morning I was strolling along the beach collecting a few seashells for my son, and then laid on the beach for about an hour. I ate a quick bite for lunch, and was off to the airport! Several hours later, I was in Tulsa, where the temperature was six degrees!!!! I PROMISE I tried to bring some of that Cali weather back with me! But, looks like we’re going to have to wait several more months!
Here are a few of my favorites so far from the trip. I will have several more to post as I have time.
The Cowan family came in over Christmas break for a family shoot. I LOVE it when a family is color coordinated! And the children were amazing! We were able to go through the studio shoot in quick fashion, so, I suggested we head outside for a few more shots! It was COLD, but, they were all troopers and created some amazing images!
Thank you for being so wonderful! It was great getting to know you!
I’m honored to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Keith Zoromski! Woot woot! I had the privilege of shooting their wedding a few weeks ago. It was a cold winter night, but nice and cozy in the church!
Keith and Stephanie are an amazing couple, and full of love! For those of you that know Keith…well, he’s a little crazy and you have to love him for that! I’m not going to lie though, I’m pretty sure I saw him shed a tear at the wedding. I may or may not have proof…
Stephanie looked absolutely stunning!
Thank you both for letting me be a part of your special night! Here’s a few of my favorite from the night!
